Happy Valentine’s Day!!

February 16, 2011 By JulieK

Well… I guess technically, it’s “Happy Day After Valentine’s Day” but I wanted to share the little projects I made with the kids for their classes… I had an idea in my head, and was looking for measurements for a pencil holder for the kids to give to their classes… Here’s the post I found to make an adorable little holder that holds 3 pencils… (not at all what I was looking for, but HAD to make it when I saw it…)  Be Creative With Nicole

I cut and scored all of the papers (Kathryn wanted white, Sean wanted kraft), then let them pick a Valentine stamp to use (Many thanks to Ryan for the use of her big binder-o-stamps!!) Now, Sean picks a couple of simple stamps that he stamped using cranberry colored ink… Kathryn, I didn’t realize, chose her stamp (be mine, or else… perfect for her personality!!) and was planning to color them in… Had I know that, I would have had her stamp with black ink… oh well!! They are still cute I think :) I will just mention, that it took longer than I thought to cut and score 20 for each of the kids… now, who’s lame-brained idea was it to MAKE Valentine’s Day cards?? oh, right… mine… :) Love to make stuff :)

Here’s Sean’s

and here’s Kathryn’s

While they were stamping… I made some cards for their teachers… I used the same idea as the card club cards I made last month… But pulled out some vintage Scenic Route paper (man, I still miss Scenic Route!!) and Kraft cardstock… and filled them with yummy chocolate squares…

Sometimes, when you make something…

It comes out even BETTER than it originally looked in your head :) (now, sometimes it certainly DOESN'T come out the way you think… but that's OK too :)  Anyway, at Late Night Croppers, we have a monthly Card Club… We make 4 cards in a class format, and we also participate in a card swap with each of the members… We have a theme, and make cards to share with everyone… This month we had 8 participants, and the theme was Birthday :) I made 2 each of THESE… They currently have yummy teas in them, but could easily be replaced with chocolate or a gift card… I found a pattern at Split Coast Stampers, but altered it (of course :) ).  The patterned papers are American Crafts, and the birthday stamp is Stampin' Up. There were 2 in each color…

Here's one all put together…

The Crop Shop Projects… Using Making Memories Pitter Patter

August 9, 2010 By JulieK

How sweet is the Making Memories Pitter Patter line??? Just too sweet!!!  I was given this line for my August assignment for The Crop Shop, and drove down to drop them off yesterday… Also, very exciting news… The Crop Shop is going to be carrying Zutter products, and I'm going to be teaching classes there as well!! Yeah!!  Anyway, here are the 3 layouts and 2 cards that I created using the MM Pitter Patter (boy) line… Photos are my good friend Ryan's Godson :)

A fun and easy card

August 6, 2010 By JulieK

I like to have a stash of ready to go cards… That way, when I realize that I am about to miss someone's birthday, or I need a quick congratulations, or feel better card, then I have something I can use right away!  There isn't a sentiment on the card yet, 'cause I'm not sure where it's going to go :)  The pretty flowers are cut out of beautiful American Crafts patterned papers, and then I used a quick scallop punch and a couple of gems :)
