New QuicKutz Projects

July 13, 2009 By JulieK

I thought it was time to add a few of the newest QuicKutz projects that I created for the July 2nd release…  I'll add a few more in the next few days… Of course, they all use the wonderful Silhouette (and I just got my latest assignment… the new-upcoming shapes are just as fabulous!! Can't wait to show you those as well!!)

Take a look at this really cool comic strip shape

I took the shape (flipped it sideways) then also cut an offset so that it would have a little frame… I cut the letters also using the Silhouette and the font "StarJedi" The photos are from our trip last summer to Disney for "Star Wars Weekend" What a quick and easy way to fit a lot of photos on a page!

Starwars

Then there's these fun little people shapes… You know me, I love to use things in ways that are different than their intention :) This card was created for Mike's cousin's wedding card (her colors were black, white and red… I had a "thing" for red and black with this release!!).

Here's the card… Some Bazzill Cardstock, and a couple of little jewels, and you have a perfect and easy wedding card.

and the shapes I used:

One more installment in my love of red and black was this door sign… Sean is always trying to get his little sister to stay out of his stuff (unsuccessfully, I might add!!) So, I made this little sign for his door… I used a Zutter Art Canvas cover for the base, and some great new SIlhouette shapes…

Donotenter

I am pretty positive it will not scare his fearless sister out of his room, but it goes nicely with his pirate themed room :)

Here's the shapes:

You know you love Cosmo Cricket when…

June 27, 2009 By JulieK

So, this past week I was typing up my descriptions for next month's Zutter projects… I work on them throughout the month, and then take pictures and set them aside until it's time to upload them… Something else to note… I LOVE all the new Cosmo Cricket lines… I own all of them, and keep looking at them 'cause they are so pretty!!  OK… Back to the story… As I'm typing up my descriptions, I realized that I used the SAME COSMO CRICKET LINE for all 3 projects!!! OMGosh, I guess I really do LOVE those papers!!! How unbelievably cool is the EverAfter line??  Here's how cool :) Here's a peek at the projects that will be featured on the Zutter site for July…

This one was my July Zutter Club project (a class that I teach at the LSS), the papers are so flexible, they can be used for so many little projects! This one uses an acrylic cover, and 4×4 plain white coasters as the base, and the pretty, pretty papers…

Then there is this little house mini-book… Inside I used random pics of the kids from this spring…

Then there's one of my favorite projects… Just a home decor item, but I love how it came out…

Oh… Right, then there was the layout kit I made for the store, also using Cosmo Cricket :)

SummerSweetnesssmall You will see lots more detail shots (inside the albums) on the Zutter site in July… But I was laughing so hard when I realized that throughout the month, I was consistantly picking up the same papers!!!  I DO love Cosmo Cricket… ***pssst… Cosmo Cricket… Are you listening :) I LOVE all your beautiful papers!!! I'm currently working on a little fishy shaped book using the snorkel line, but the papers are so cute I don't want to cut them!! Maybe I'll just get a couple more of them next time I'm at the LSS, then I can cut away :)

Happy 5

February 9, 2009 By JulieK

At the wonderful crop this weekend, I created this book for Kathryn's 5th birthday :)  The book is a Cosmo Cricket Blackboard book, but I turned it sideways, put ribbon on the holes, and then Zuttered it :) Is Zuttering a verb?? :)  I used the FABULOUS new My Mind's Eye papers that Laurie just got into the store… OMGosh!! Love them!!  And of course my QuicKutz :) Can't scrap without my alphas!!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye
OWires and Bind-it-All: Zutter
Various Ribbons: Mostly Maya Road and May Arts
Sheer label: Maya Road
Blackboard Book: Cosmo Cricket
QuicKutz: Katie Mini, Vixen (5), Blossom (inside)

The Mighty Toad Hunter

January 19, 2009 By JulieK

Seriously…  This "Toad-ally" Cool mini-album was soooo much fun to make!!!  Of course, I used my Bind-it-All and my QuicKutz, 'cause I can't seem to make anything without them :)  While we were at the lake this summer, we were on the back beach, and the toads must have just hatched, they were tiny, and there had to be thousands of them!!! Everywhere you looked, there were little toads… Kathryn was completely enthralled with them, and wanted to pick them up and pet them… poor little toads :)

Supplies:
Bind-it-All 6×6 cover
Bind-it-All 1" Owires
DCWV patterned paper (from the infamous "Green Stack!!")  Fabulous paper!!
American Crafts cardstock
Creative Imaginations buttons
various ribbons (Mostly Maya Road, I can't get enough of their fabulous ribbon!!)

QuicKutz:
Toad-ally- Storybook
Cool – Vixen
2008 – from the calendar set
scallop frame

plus my Fiskars Threading water and Martha Stewart doily punches

I do want to mention that I purchase 99% of my supplies at The Scrapbooker's Dream in Tewksbury Massachusetts… I LOVE Laurie's store, she always has just what I "need" and also has a new blog… Check her out here: http://thescrapbookersdream.wordpress.com

Happy Christmas 2008

January 12, 2009 By JulieK

I so love how this project came out… I read an idea on a message board from someone who said that they created a mini-book for their child using their birthday cards… And I thought, OMGosh!! I should do that with the Christmas cards from this year!! I HATE to throw them away (hence the billions of random cards that explode from every drawer in the kitchen when you're looking for utensils).  I too almost all of this years' Christmas Cards, and kind of arranged them.  I took the photo cards and matted them and placed them on patterned paper that I punched the edges of… then I used a Zutter 8×8 Acrylic cover set (which I cut down to 8×6.5) and decorated.  Bound the whole thing with my Bind it all, added a litte ribbon, and Voila!!! Super quick and easy mini book that I'll hopefully create with upcoming years an it will be fun to look through!!

Supplies:
Zutter Bind-it-All
Zutter Acrylic covers 8×8
1 1/4 inch Zutter OWires
patterned papers by Imaginese
flocked title paper by Doodlebug
American Crafts cardstock
QuicKutz Jolly, Rockstar, and the 2008 from the Calendar set.
Ribbons are mostly Maya Road
