A Great Gift Idea

December 14, 2010 By JulieK

Please tell me that I'm not the only person who walks down the aisles of stores and thinks "oh, I could Zutter that!!!" That's how this recipe book came about :) Plus, I'm a "search for recipes in the internet and print them" kind of girl :) Come join me this Thursday evening at Ink About It in Westford, MA to create this super fun recipe book!! It uses the fun Little Yellow Bicycle Savor line, pocket folders, and the Zutter Bind it All… Bring your own machine, or just bring yourself, some adhesive and use my machine :) Still a few spots left be sure to call the store to reserve your space… This recipe book makes a great gift, and with the holidays so close, who couldn't use a great (and easily completed in class) gift??

Here's a few pics… Hope to see you Thursday!!

Merry 2009

December 5, 2010 By JulieK

Here’s a layout I finished up last week… I used the Oh-So-Super-Cute Cottage Christmas by Imaginisce… OMGosh, how I love everything they make!!! (check out all my Apple Cider projects from the fall… I think I made 5 layouts and 2 minibooks with that fabulous line!!)

Anyway, here’s the latest layout I made… Cottage Christmas papers, and the ribbon and snowflakes from the line too!!!

A Tale of 2 Stockings…

December 3, 2010 By JulieK

We were visiting our good friend Pete last winter, and I commented on his Christmas Stocking, an adorable crocheted stocking, that I believe he said that his Grandmother made when he was a baby… She also made one for his first son, but passed away before his second son was born, so Pete and Connor have these wonderful matching stockings, but Coen didn't… He told us that he had called several people he found online, but it was going to cost a small fortune (like $100+) to have one made to match… NOT SO :) said I… I told him to give me his stocking to use as sort-of a pattern, and I would make one that would at least come close :)  So, $6 in yarn later…

Here's Pete's original stocking…

And… Here's the matching one I made for Coen

And here they are together :)

Mike's bringing them to Pete today at work :) I hope he likes it!! It was a fun project, and honestly took hardly any time at all to copy!!!!

Oh My Goodness!!! Creative Memories Design Team!!!

November 29, 2010 By JulieK

I am still in SHOCK to find MY NAME on the Creative Memories Design Team!!!  I want to shout it from the rooftops!!!  Check out the post here, with the list of all the wonderful ladies on the team… I couldn't be more thrilled to have my name included with all the other fabulous scrappers on the list!!

We submitted any 3 projects for the first round, and then for the finalist round, we were sent a package with the Creative Memories Very Merry Limited Edition kit… papers and embellishments…  Here's a sampling of what I made with the beautiful papers and embellishments I was sent… Don't forget to go to the Creative Memories Project Center to check out even more projects using these beautiful papers and embellishments!!

The first layout… Using the pretty papers, letter stickers, diecut embellishments, paper ribbon, and cardstock (hard to see in the pics, but the background CS is shimmery…)

For this second layout, I used the papers, cardstock, epoxy embellishments, and also the Creative Memories Cricut Cartridge, which we just got in at Late Night Croppers! Look how cute that snowman is, and the titles are so cool too!!!

Another thing I made… This gift bag front… using the Creative Memories Cricut Cartridge (that snowman is just too cute!!) The paper ribbon, some cut patterened paper (to make the tree) and the die cut presents…

Oh, and… How fun is this little Post it note holder? I could resist making this little project… I used the cardstock, epoxy elements, torn paper, letter stickers and that snowflake (also from the Cricut cartridge) which I "Zuttered" and made this fun little desk accessory.

So… There it is!!! I am beyond thrilled to find my name on the list, and am looking forward to my first assignments!!!

My very favorite holiday of the year!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! A few pics of us getting ready to go :) Don't look too close :) The first one will most likely be our Christmas card :) Oh, and did you catch "mr-I'm-too-cool" in his new smirky smile?  that's about all I get at the moment, still cute… but give me a "real" smile!!
