Project Life

Ok, I know I’m late to the “Project Life” party… I loved the idea of Becky Higgins’ Project Life albums, but there was so much hype, and they were so difficult to get (they’d sell out so quickly) that I just avoided it… But, then one day I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Kayla Aimee was showing her pages and the “Clementine” kit… Well, my favorite color is orange, and a kit called Clementine with shades of orange in it called my name!! BUT, I looked, and it was sold out, then back in stock, and then sold out again before I saw it was back… One day my friend Ryan saw it in stock and I now have it!! YEAH!! The fall was so crazy though, that I just finally got going!! This past weekend I finally had time to open the box and look at all the prettiness!! I’m starting my album with October 1 (I may at some point add to the beginning of the album, but I don’t want to start out the project feeling like I’m already behind!! October is a perfectly fine time to start!). My weeks will go from Monday-Sunday ’cause that’s the way I “see” my weeks, I like both of my weekend days together.

Here’s my title page… Starting out simple, Project Life Clementine Core Kit, the “Kelley” title is the QuicKutz Katie Alphabet. Little bit of twine too… and a couple of photos…

October 1-7 This week we went to Vermont, so I added an insert page to handle some of the excess pictures :)

Here’s the left side… I don’t have my date stamps here at home, which I’ll add to the journal box…

Yeah! It’s Yarn Season!!

I’ve often talked about my seasonal craftiness :) I sew in the summer when I can leave my sewing machine out on the kitchen table and sew… But, in the fall and winter, it’s all about the yarn!! Last winter was my season of “knit” but my heart has always been a crocheter!! Here’s my first crochet project of the yarn season… I saw the pattern and had to have it, the pattern is the Collette Poncho pattern by Jenny King Designs. I loved the pattern, and realized when I got about half way through that I didn’t actually follow the pattern… The pattern calls for SC, and I used DC throughout… but I LOVE it :) In fact, I’m almost done with one in blues as well!! The pics are from my phone, so not super crisp… I love the cowl neck, it’s so very comfy!! This one uses 4 balls of Red Heart Boutique Treasure yarn in the Abstract colorway… Oh, the fall colors!!!

Christmas Countdown Book

I am so excited to show you the book that we’ll be making in my next class at Ink About It in Westford, MA!! The class is on Thursday, November 1 from 6:30-about 8:30 and is just $25. Your book will be finished when you leave!! Bring your Bind it All if you have one, or just use mine when you get there, either way, you’ll go home with a completed project!

This month’s project is a Christmas Countdown Calendar using Authentique’s Festive line of papers… OMGosh, are they fabulous! The twine on the cover doubles as the holder that will make your book stand up without falling down… Here’s a sneak peek of the cover and a couple of the pages to give you an idea of what we’ll be making (it will actually be antique brass wires, but I wanted to put up a picture and only had black wires handy)
