This past weekend was my Mom's birthday… Happy Birthday!!! Here's the little card and coordinating envelope that I made for her…
Not Just Paper Crafts :)
I found out last week that our "little neighbor girl" who was actually little when we bought our house, but now is clearly all grown up :) Had her baby last week… A little boy… I knew she was pregnant, but didn't realize she was due so soon!!! When her Mom told me that she was on her way to the hospital to meet her first grandchild, I ran to the store to get some yarn!! Here's the little afghan I made up for them… The bast part was when Kathryn and I walked over to deliver it, the baby was there visiting his Grandma, so we got to meet him… Oh, how I just love little babies!!! And… ALL little babies should have something that is handmade just for them :)
Tonight’s Zutter Class!
Here's a little peek at tonight's Zutter Club project :) I made this book using acrylic covers, some Webster's Pages beautiful papers, my Sizzix tree (gasp!) and then took my Bind it All and all my Christmas Cards from this year and put them together… I made a similar book last year… It was so much fun to look through all of last years photos and cards, and to make a new installment :) The photo cards are mounted on some coordinating cardstock before being punched.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I know I haven't posted in FOREVER :) But it's a New Year!! And this year I'm planning to post more regularly!! For Thanksgiving, I got a TON of really good photos of the kids… They were really cooperative, posed nicely without me having to say "stop poking your brother" and "don't do that!" "We can take a silly picture if you'll just give me one nice smile…" or even "Good Lord… just let me get ONE nice picture please!" BUT the "Christmas Photo Shoot" was not exactly the same… There was lots of poking, eye rolling, and general misery :) Here's my favorite photo of the day… It just about says it all :) It just screams "8 and almost 6" to me… I wish I had this one before I made the Christmas Cards… Alas, I'll have to settle for a page in a scrapbook album and here in my blog :)
On another fun note, we took a little impromptu visit to NYC just before New Years… I didn't bring the big camera and only had my phone… but here's one of my favorite pics of the kids with the Statue of Liberty in the background… It was pretty darn cold, but we had a blast!
On The 5th day of Christmas…
We all know that I just love my Zutter Bind it All! I'm so lucky to have been on their Original Zutter Zisters Team… AND also thankful that they've keeps us "Originals" on the team… Over on the Zutter message board, we're posting projects for the 12 days of Christmas :) Come on over and check out the fun!!! ZUTTER MESSAGE BOARD ON NING My project is for the 5th day of the challenge, and it's a little mini-ablum that can be used to give a gift card (or 2) and then the reciever can put a couple photos in and keep it as a keepsake and decoration! I used the 4×4 clipboard covers, a couple pieces of pretty papers, a few buttons, and some ribbon… A 1/2 inch Zutter OWire and of course the Bind it All :) Here's a few photos… The "be jolly" is QuicKutz :) Simply tuck the gift card in the inside pocket (or you could print up little "coupons" for fun things, an evening out, or give movie tickets and babysitting to a friend who has children.. the possibilites are endless…
