I love making little post it note holders! They make a fun and easy gift for almost any occasion… Here's my latest! I used 2 coasters, the Zutter owires (I think they're 3/4") and fun Bo Bunny papers that I've been holding on to for a while… I added a couple of ribbon scraps… The tree and alpha are QuicKutz Reuse
Upcoming Class at Ink About It
I'm so excited about this month's Zutter Class!!! There's still space if you want to join in the fun :) Just call the store and let them know!! Check out their website for more information www.inkaboutitonline.com The class is from 6:30-8:30 on August 12, and when you leave class your book will be complete with the exception of photos and journaling!!! I was inspired to make this book when I saw the new 7gypsies envelope books (which, of course, I had to buy 'cause I have a "mini book problem" :) But I thought to myself, I could make that!! And that's what I did… There's 6×6 Chipboard Wood covers by Zutter, 6×9 manilla envelopes (cut down, I used both parts) and fab papers by Girls' Paperie… Here's just a couple of photos of the album :)
Inside each little envelope pocket is a journal card like these… Plus there's extra journal sections as needed
Pack Monadnock
We love the mountains!!! (as you can clearly see from MANY of my projects :) Pack Monadnock is a favorite because you can hike it (it's not too hard, we've done it when the puppy was only 6 months old) and you can also drive up the summit road… for days when we're out in the "race car" or just too lazy to climb but want the "mountain." Plus, did you check out the family picture?? Thanks so much to the random very nice person who offered to take a family shot for us!!! I knew they must be OK 'cause they were carrying around their neck the same camera we have :) anyway… Here's a layout that I did last night… I used Bo Bunny patterned paper that I've been hoarding for several years… I'm cleaning out for a scrapbook yard sale and have decided that I REALLY need to use the papers that I love, and not just store them :) Hence, this layout and the Pinewood Derby one too… Use it or lose it :) The alphas are QuicKutz "Supermarket" a new favorite!! and I think that the small one is "Sticky Note" but I have to double check that one :)
Also, trying to hit a goal of make cards with the scraps as you go along, then you always have plenty of cards at your disposal… So, when the layout was finished, here's the card I made with some of the scraps!
Pinewood Derby
Sean had such a fun time designing his very first Pinewood Derby car!! It didn't go all that fast, but he didn't come in last!! Here's the 2 page layout I created… I used the fun and fabulous American Crafts Travel line… The patterned papers, the cardstock, the "pinewood" and the ribbon are all American Crafts… I cut the "Derby" using my QuicKutz Diesel, and then added some faux stitching with a white pen around the edges… The arrow is pointing to his car in the big line-up :)
A Pot of Gold…
Well… Although we chased the rainbow all over town, we never did find the pot of gold :) We were driving home from swimming at Nana and Pa's, when we saw this fabulous rainbow… but the camera was at home, of course!!! So, we raced home and ran across the street with the camera to try to get some shots of the spectacular light show!!! The big yellow house is across the street… we have too many big old trees to see it from our house… I've never seen a rainbow that you could see both ends of before!!! As we drove across the highway overpass, you could actually see it start in the roadway, then go across and you could see the entire arch… but alas… no camera… That's OK :) We saw it…
