Oh, I LOVE Thanksgiving!! It’s my very favorite holiday of the year, with all the fabulous family time and none of the gift-giving stress that makes Christmas hard… Every year we travel to spend the day with family, and although I am very thankful not to have to clean my house, everyone brings “something” to the party, and I’m a terrible cook… No, really… I try hard, but I just don’t have the baking “knack” that my sister got… I keep saying that I’d be better if I had a “big girl mixer” you know… that beautiful KitchenAid mixers that I would LOVE to have… But honestly, I don’t know how much that would help… and I hate to spend that much on a kitchen appliance if it wouldn’t really help!! On the bright side, I am very crafty!! So, this year for Thanksgiving, I’m bringing candy filled treat boxes!! They are made very simply from one piece of 8.5×11 card stock and some fun little embellishments for the front… They are being featured on the Scrapbook News and Review blog where you can find a detailed tutorial on how to make them yourself…

Halloween and All Saint’s Day
I wanted to share some photos from Halloween (less than a week late :) It was a nice night, everything was back to normal after the storm (for us at least). Here’s a few pics of the kids before we went TOT… The Bandit and Cheetah :) Together on the front stairs.
The bandit by himself…
and the Cheetah…
being silly
How silly can you be?
Oh man, we went Trick or Treating with my Brother in Law and nephew, the kiddos had such a fun time!!
And, the fun didn’t end there!! With the kids at Catholic school, All Saint’s Day is a big deal!! The 5th grade was in charge of All Saint’s Day Mass, and each student researched a saint and had to dress up as their saint for the mass… Here’s the costume I made for Sean (I keep telling him how lucky he is to have a crafty Mom!!) So, here is St. John Baptiste de la Salle… The costume started out as a black sheet :)
Happy Halloween!! We Share Wednesday #5
Another HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has submitted links to the new We Share Wednesday Link Party!! I’m so glad to see everyone, and LOVE seeing what everyone has been making!!
We in the northeast certainly got our share of “tricks” for Halloween this year!! Hurricane Sandy, then “Superstorm” Sandy left the kids (and me) with no school for the past 2 days… We still have no power, but thankfully our house is fine… We actually made it through the whole storm with just a couple of flickers but the power stayed on for all of Monday, and was on when my alarm went off this morning (but then didn’t have school). But at about 7:15am it went out, and hasn’t even considered coming back :) According to National Grid, there are no crews assigned, and no sense of when they will be… It’s not cold outside, and we’re safe… What’s a little power? (I’m totally being sarcastic there… we love power… but we can’t make it fixed any faster, so we’re hanging out with what we have :)
In the mean time, let’s take a peek at some beautiful projects from last week!! I honestly love them all!!
Ok, Who can resist Salted Caramel Sauce? Doesn’t this look so yummy?? I NEED to make some!!
and… Since it’s Halloween!! How great is this pumpkin??
I hope you all have a wonderful safe Halloween, and come and join the Link Party!!!Now, let’s link up!! There’s only a couple of “rules” for everyone…

Project Life
Ok, I know I’m late to the “Project Life” party… I loved the idea of Becky Higgins’ Project Life albums, but there was so much hype, and they were so difficult to get (they’d sell out so quickly) that I just avoided it… But, then one day I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Kayla Aimee was showing her pages and the “Clementine” kit… Well, my favorite color is orange, and a kit called Clementine with shades of orange in it called my name!! BUT, I looked, and it was sold out, then back in stock, and then sold out again before I saw it was back… One day my friend Ryan saw it in stock and I now have it!! YEAH!! The fall was so crazy though, that I just finally got going!! This past weekend I finally had time to open the box and look at all the prettiness!! I’m starting my album with October 1 (I may at some point add to the beginning of the album, but I don’t want to start out the project feeling like I’m already behind!! October is a perfectly fine time to start!). My weeks will go from Monday-Sunday ’cause that’s the way I “see” my weeks, I like both of my weekend days together.
Here’s my title page… Starting out simple, Project Life Clementine Core Kit, the “Kelley” title is the QuicKutz Katie Alphabet. Little bit of twine too… and a couple of photos…
October 1-7 This week we went to Vermont, so I added an insert page to handle some of the excess pictures :)
Here’s the left side… I don’t have my date stamps here at home, which I’ll add to the journal box…
Here’s the front of the insert
the back side of the insert
and the right side of the page… Journaling with details about the trip will be added soon…
And… My week 2
October 8-15 More travel this week as we went to the Cape with my Brother in Law and Sister in Law
Left Side…
Right side…
Thanks so much for taking a peek at my “new” project!! I’m hoping to get some more done this weekend… I don’t have a lot of pictures from the last 2 weeks, but we’ll figure something out!
I’m sharing this post at The Mom Creative’s Project Life Tuesday…
