Jaunary 10-19

January 20, 2009 By JulieK

Here's the photos from January 10-19 :) I've been taking them right along, but remembering to make them small enough to post is another thing :)

January 10… Time to take down the tree and the rest of the decorations…

January10small

January 11… yup, more snow!! It doesn't bother the kids any!!

January11small

January 12-Kathryn's turn to take a pic… This is the very nice woman from Bella Beads where we went while we were waiting for Sean to get out of Chess Club…

January 12small

January 13 Sean's turn to take pics… this is what he wants for his birthday… the Lego DeathStar…  Too many pieces if you ask me… thankfully his birthday isn't til June… Maybe he'll find something else :)

January 14 We went to visit Gram today, and she's just not doing well… God Bless Kathryn, she talked non-stop to her the whole time we were there, Gram didn't answer or really respond at all, but Kathryn just told her everything that we've been doing, and showed her pics and kept up the chatter… Sometimes it's a good thing that my child could talk a dog off a meat wagon!!  But she fell asleep on the way home, and took a good nap, all that talking wears a little girl out!

January 14small

January 15 yes, that's 15 degrees, in the middle of the day with the sun shining… I hate cold.

January15small

January 16  Kathryn on the other hand, doesn't mind the cold at all… this was her "afterschool" outfit…
January16small

January 17 I got to go and scrap all day :) Love The Scrapbooker's Dream… My favorite store!!!  Anyway, this is one of the projects I made that day!

January17small

January 18 What's that?? Right, more snow….

January 18small

January 20 These Shoes were made for walking, but they've seen better days… it's time for new school shoes for Sean… He LOVES his school shoes (you can tell!!) He wears them all the time, and just wore them out!!

The Mighty Toad Hunter

January 19, 2009 By JulieK

Seriously…  This "Toad-ally" Cool mini-album was soooo much fun to make!!!  Of course, I used my Bind-it-All and my QuicKutz, 'cause I can't seem to make anything without them :)  While we were at the lake this summer, we were on the back beach, and the toads must have just hatched, they were tiny, and there had to be thousands of them!!! Everywhere you looked, there were little toads… Kathryn was completely enthralled with them, and wanted to pick them up and pet them… poor little toads :)

Supplies:
Bind-it-All 6×6 cover
Bind-it-All 1" Owires
DCWV patterned paper (from the infamous "Green Stack!!")  Fabulous paper!!
American Crafts cardstock
Creative Imaginations buttons
various ribbons (Mostly Maya Road, I can't get enough of their fabulous ribbon!!)

QuicKutz:
Toad-ally- Storybook
Cool – Vixen
2008 – from the calendar set
scallop frame

plus my Fiskars Threading water and Martha Stewart doily punches

I do want to mention that I purchase 99% of my supplies at The Scrapbooker's Dream in Tewksbury Massachusetts… I LOVE Laurie's store, she always has just what I "need" and also has a new blog… Check her out here: http://thescrapbookersdream.wordpress.com

Happy Christmas 2008

January 12, 2009 By JulieK

I so love how this project came out… I read an idea on a message board from someone who said that they created a mini-book for their child using their birthday cards… And I thought, OMGosh!! I should do that with the Christmas cards from this year!! I HATE to throw them away (hence the billions of random cards that explode from every drawer in the kitchen when you're looking for utensils).  I too almost all of this years' Christmas Cards, and kind of arranged them.  I took the photo cards and matted them and placed them on patterned paper that I punched the edges of… then I used a Zutter 8×8 Acrylic cover set (which I cut down to 8×6.5) and decorated.  Bound the whole thing with my Bind it all, added a litte ribbon, and Voila!!! Super quick and easy mini book that I'll hopefully create with upcoming years an it will be fun to look through!!

Supplies:
Zutter Bind-it-All
Zutter Acrylic covers 8×8
1 1/4 inch Zutter OWires
patterned papers by Imaginese
flocked title paper by Doodlebug
American Crafts cardstock
QuicKutz Jolly, Rockstar, and the 2008 from the Calendar set.
Ribbons are mostly Maya Road
