For this book, I used the colored and scalloped paper bags by Creative Imaginations, and of course the super-fun American Crafts Christmas line… The QuicKutz fonts are Bright (from Merry and Bright) and Uptown Girl. I also used my big old red Sizzix machine and snowflake die to make the felt snowflakes (with some stickles and a silver brad). All bound together with my Zutter BIA and some pretty Bazzill and American Crafts ribbon!! Happy Thanksgiving Treat Bags
Here's a little project that I made for Thanksgiving… We go to DH's Aunt's house for the big day, and I usually bring a desert that never comes out the way I hoped… So, this year I decided to do something a little bit different… I love to make things, so I made these little treat boxes and filled them with candy! I love how they turned out… There's 40 of them, but they went together quickly! It was also a great excuse to use my Quickutz 4×4 Leaf dies that I've had for a while and "needed" an excuse to use!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I have to say, I am a terrible cook! I used to be a pretty good cook, but being a Mom with an out-of-the-home job has turned me into something entirely different!! I barely have the energy to heat stuff up, nevermind following great recipes!! So, this year for Thanksgiving, instead of trying to make something clever and being disappointed in how it comes out, I made these adorable (if I do say so myself) little treat boxes for everyone who will be at Thanksgiving, they're filled with candy… I may not be a good cook, but I can craft :) I found the pattern for the little boxes at my favorite inspirational blog Chic-n-Scratch Blog
Here's my Thanksgiving Version… Yup, there's 40 of them :)
Little Yellow Bicycle and Zutter
Have you seen the beautiful "Love Letters" line by Little Yellow Bicycle??? It's just beautiful!!! Lots of gorgeous papers, and the elements are wonderful, acetates, flocking, chipboard, ribbon… You name it, and it's here!!! We got a fabulous package of things from them recently, and I created this mini-book featuring photos (mostly of our kids) from my BIL's recent wedding… I used the new Zutter Cover All's as well, and thought that it made the perfect little binder for this fun book!! Here's the cover and a few of the inside pages… Don't forget to check out the www.zutterzisters.com site to check out more creative ways to use the Bind it All!
It’s finished!!!
That's right… The annual "year in review" photo book is actually FINISHED BEFORE Thanksgiving!!! I am just so pleased with myself!! I usually don't even start picking pictures until Thanksgiving weekend, so I'm WAY ahead :) We use Lulu.com for the publishing, so DH will get it ready and uploaded, and just maybe this year we won't need expedited shipping to get them for Christmas :) I don't want to show it off too much 'cause I love for it to be a surprise, But here's the cover… I used goodies by Shabby Princess, the Olivia Collection…
