So, a question for the digi-girls… Does anyone else get an incredible urge to paper scrap??? I haven’t touched any of my HUGE stash of basic grey, or Bazzill, or any of my totally yummy elements for so long, and tonight I’m just dying to get my hands on some paper and glue! Weird!  I can’t get up to the "crap" room tonight ’cause DH is in there working on my new super-fast (so he says…4 raptor drives and 1.2 terabyte of memory…. Yikes!!!) computer… which is taking up all my space while he’s working on it…. Oh well…. Maybe tomorrow…. I have to go up and finish up Stace’s 2 circle journals which have been sitting on my desk for an obscene amount of time…. But I can’t wait to get to them this week!!!

On a very sad note, the son of a good friend of the family died this past weekend, under very sad circumstances… just terrible, they are such good people and I feel so bad for them.  I think he was 24… the wake is tomorrow, with the funeral on Thursday… If you have a moment to spare a few extra prayers for them, I know that they’d appreciate it.  I can’t even imagine how awful it is for them to have to go through this, it’s gonna be a rough couple days…..

I haven’t had much time to scrap lately!! Well, except for HOF…… But I finally sat down and did a layout just for fun yesterday!!!  I used Suzanne Bauer’s Vintage Keepsakes kit and also one of her Red Heart templates…..

I honestly don’t understand the hullabaloo about the CK HOF rule about having to create layouts using your own photographs…. quoting from their rules:

3. Entries, including photographs, must be the sole work of the entrant. Layouts cannot currently be or have ever been posted in any online forum, submitted to Creating Keepsakes or any other magazine, created for a specific manufacturer, or entered into any other contest.

There has been sooooo much argument over this, which is what I just don’t get… It’s a simple rule (I think). They are not saying that you shouldn’t scrap heritage photos, or that you shouldn’t scrap photos taken by your husband, but they are saying that if you are HOF material, you should have enough photos that you took yourself to be able to create 10 great layouts using photos you took…. I don’t understand all the hand wringing about it??????  I have some fantastic heritage photos…. I just didn’t include those LO’s in my entry… It’s their contest, and I think they are looking for people who have it all (including being able to take enough decent pics to create a 10 layout entry).  It is called Hall of Fame after all….  I guess I just wonder why some people are so up in arms about a rule that was clearly stated in the official rules right from the get-go…

Anyway, Just my thought…. I entered, I read the rules BEFORE I started and I followed them…. DO I seriously think that I have it all??? Nope :) Is my phone going to ring on "call day" ???? Nope :) BUT you never know what they are looking for, and you never know what will catch their eye…. If nothing else, at least I entered, AND I have 10 layouts that I seriously LOVE.  Maybe they will want to use a couple of them in future issues…. I hope so :) but either way, I’m not going to complain about their rules for their scrapbook contest!
